Orange County Man Arrested For Murder Of Uncle Whose Body Was Found In Santa Barbara County

Posted on Monday, August 8, 2011 6:00pm

Police in the Orange County community of La Palma have arrested a 23-year-old man they say murdered his uncle, and dumped the body in Santa Barbara County.

The body of 58-year-old Douglas Galvin was found on July 31st off of East Camino Cielo Road, in the vicinity of Painted Cave Road, by a passerby.  The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department, and La Palma Police launched a joint investigation, which led them to the home of Kirk Galvin, who was the victim’s nephew.  Detectives say they found evidence at the La Palma man’s home which linked him to his uncle’s death.  They think the uncle was attacked at the home, although it’s unclear as to whether he actually died at the house.

Investigators aren’t talking about the cause of death, but say the body was charred.
