Authorities Hoping To Solve Unsolved Half Century Old Cold Case Murder In Santa Barbara County

Posted on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 12:15am

It’s been 50 years since 7 year old Ramona Price disappeared while walking to school in Santa Barbara.  Police conducted a massive investigation at the time, in 1961, but never solved the case.  Now, 50 years later, investigators are hoping to finally bring closure to the disappearance.  Investigators say they received evidence about four years ago that the girls remains might be buried in the Highway 101 Winchester overcrossing, in the Goleta area.   Because the overpass is now being demolished, police will be using cadaver-sniffing dogs to try to locate the girl’s remains.  Police aren’t talking about the new evidence in the case, but are planning to hold a news conferfence at the scene later this morning to release more details about what led to the search.
