Two Injured By Suspected Drug Lab Blasts At Ventura County Home

Posted on Thursday, June 9, 2011 2:15pm

Two men were injured by a series of explosions, and fire at a Moorpark home early Thursday morning, and authorities say a suspected illegal drug lab was the cause.  It happened just before 1:30 in the morning, in the garage of a home on the 4200 block of East Cedar Pine Lane.  Neighbors reported multiple blasts, and Ventura County firefighters arrived to find flames coming from the garage.  The controlled the fire in about a half-hour.  One of the two men hurt by the blast was seriously injured, but both are expected to survive.  A pregnant woman, and a young child escaped from the house safely. No one else in the neighborhood was hurt.  The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department is investigating what they say appears to be a hash oil lab.
