Ventura County First District Supervisor Steve Bennett announced today that he will seek a fourth term in office next year. Bennett has been known for his efforts to protect the environment in Ventura County, helping to spearhead initiatives to preserve open space, and agricultural land. He told KCLU News that he wants to continue initiatives to preserve the county’s lifestyle, and wants to continue to work on keeping the county financially sound during a difficult time for local governments. At a news conference attended by hundreds of supporters, Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean, and County Supervisor Linda Parks were among the first to endorse Bennett for his re-election bid. No one else has formally announced plans to seek the seat.
